If asked how she will describe herself in three words, she uttered:

1. Kind and Compassionate

I always feel the need to try and help others that are in need especially my students who come to put their confidence in me to teach and guide them. I feel for someone who experience the same amount of sufferings as I had before when I just started. So as long as they need my help, I will always be there for them.

2. Fierce yet Feminine

Being a fierce woman means so much more than being loud and obnoxious. It means having the innate ability to stand face to face with adversity, challenge societal norms and staying mentally strong.

But the most important thing a fierce woman like me can do is love myself. Without self-love and self-respect, people will always take advantage of me. I know my self-worth and I don’t undervalue myself or my work.

3. Courageous

‘Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can’t practice any other virtues consistently.’ – Maya Angelou

Courage makes me want to walk on unfamiliar ground and tread the less travelled path. I fight the resistance everyday with the courage to do the very thing people said I can’t do. I don’t have to conform to societal norms and expectations, I choose my own path and I have an unmatched courage to challenge anyone who stand in my way.

ADVICES TO SPMU STUDENT AND ARTISTS:

We are our knight in shining armor and we know that no one will come to save us. So, do not let the fear of failure scare you. You know that you can weather any storm if you believe the cause is worthwhile.

But here’s yet the best advice I can give you, be humble. To be humble doesn’t mean to have low self-esteem. Humble people can have great talent, yet they are extremely self-aware of their talents, and keep everything in perspective. When you’re humble, the results speak for themselves. When you’re humble, you’re not afraid to ask for help, praise others and even accept compliments. If you are truly humble, people will notice and gravitate towards you.

So, cheers to all of us ladies and gents in this industry, we know that we have the control to change our own lives at any given moment. So have the power to be anything, do anything and think anything. You have the power and the ability to break boundaries, push through adversity and create exciting innovations.”
